India factory PMI eases to 54.7 in October 2026

क्या हुआ

The final HSBC India Manufacturing PMI came out this morning at 10:30 AM IST (an S&P Global survey):
• The PMI was 54.7 in October, down from 55.1 in September and below the early (flash) estimate of 54.9 released on 23 October
• Above 50 means factory activity is growing, and it is also above its long-run average
• New export orders grew at the fastest pace in 6 months; growth in output and new orders slowed a little
• Input costs rose at the slowest pace since February, and selling prices rose at the slowest pace in almost 4 years
• Business confidence weakened and hiring rose only slightly

इसका मतलब

The PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) is built from a monthly survey of factory managers. Above 50 = expansion, below 50 = contraction. A flash (early) reading comes first, then the final figure at the start of the month, which can differ slightly, as it did this time (54.9 to 54.7).

Easing price pressure (input and output prices) is one part of the RBI's thinking, and India's data matters to anyone following the INR (USD/INR).

Lesson: read the details (export orders, prices, jobs, confidence), not just the headline number. This is for understanding, not buy/sell advice.

सिर्फ़ समझ के लिए, prediction नहीं। यह buy/sell सलाह नहीं है, ख़बर पढ़कर सीधे trade न करें।
