Binance Update #5: reserve proof now user-verifiable

क्या हुआ

Binance released "Recovery Update #5" today, 2 Nov, at around 6:15 PM IST. According to the exchange's own statement:
• The full zero-knowledge proof for the Proof of Reserves (PoR) snapshot taken at 31 October 00:00 UTC is complete
• Users holding any of 10 tokens (BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, ZEC) can now use the verifier tool on the PoR website to check for themselves that their balance is backed at least 1:1
• The next snapshot, covering more tokens, will be taken on 4 Nov; its proof is expected to take about 40–50 hours
• Binance repeats that about 95% of the loss has been covered; the remaining 5% is less liquid tokens outside these 10
• The next phase of withdrawals for more networks and assets is planned to roll out gradually tomorrow (3 Nov)

The 95% figure is Binance's own; no independent auditor has confirmed it.

इसका मतलब

Proof of Reserves is a way to show that an exchange holds at least as many assets as its users have deposited. A Merkle Tree lets each user check that their balance was counted in the snapshot, and a zk-SNARK (zero-knowledge proof) proves reserves are at least 1:1 without revealing anyone's balance.

Keep in mind: PoR is a picture of one moment (the snapshot), and this one covers only these 10 tokens. It says nothing about changes after that moment or about other tokens.

Lesson: don't fully trust the word "proof" on its own; check which coins, which snapshot date and who verified it. This is for understanding only, not buy/sell advice.

सिर्फ़ समझ के लिए, prediction नहीं। यह buy/sell सलाह नहीं है, ख़बर पढ़कर सीधे trade न करें।
