Eurozone PMI 52.7, UK at 52.8 in October 2026

क्या हुआ

S&P Global's final October manufacturing PMIs came out this afternoon (Eurozone 2:30 PM, UK 3:00 PM IST):
• Eurozone (HCOB): PMI 52.7. September was 52.9 (a four-year high) and the early (flash) estimate was 52.4, so the final came in a little better
• In the Eurozone, output growth was the slowest in 4 months, while input costs rose at the fastest pace since May and business confidence slipped below its long-run average
• Germany's PMI was confirmed at 54.2 (53.9 in September)
• UK: PMI 52.8, up from 51.9 in September and the highest since May. Output grew at the fastest pace in just over 2 years, but employment was unchanged and input cost inflation picked up

इसका मतलब

A PMI above 50 = factory activity is growing, below 50 = shrinking. Both the Eurozone and the UK are well above 50, so their factories are still expanding.

Worth noting: costs (input prices) are rising quickly in both. Central banks (the ECB and the Bank of England) watch inflation closely, so data like this matters for anyone following EUR and GBP.

Lesson: notice the difference between flash and final readings, and read the details (output, prices, jobs) along with the headline. This is for understanding, not buy/sell advice.
