Gold COT 27 Oct 2026: big funds still net long
क्या हुआ
The US regulator CFTC publishes the Commitments of Traders (COT) report every week. Its latest data (as of Tuesday 27 Oct 2026, COMEX gold futures) shows:
• Managed Money (large speculators such as hedge funds): 122,508 contracts long and 16,946 short, i.e. about 105,562 contracts net long
• Compared with the previous week (20 Oct), their longs rose by 1,538 and shorts by 182 contracts
• Total open interest was 396,810 contracts, down 5,469 on the week
• 1 contract = 100 troy ounces of gold
Note: this data is from Tuesday 27 Oct. Spot gold's roughly 3.62% fall on Friday 30 Oct (Trading Economics) is not included in it.
इसका मतलब
The COT report shows the positions of different types of large players in the futures market. Net long = long contracts − short contracts. Managed Money is often called the "large speculators".
Lesson: COT data is a few days old (Tuesday's positions, published later), so it is not an entry signal but a way to understand how big players are positioned. The trend over several weeks matters more than a single week's figure. This is for understanding, not buy/sell advice.
